My Values
As a leader, I am regularly called upon to make decisions which will impact myself and others. In order to make quick and clear decisions, one must have a set of guiding principles to guide their decision making process. Personally, I have identified the below values which I aim to live my life by now and into the future.
IntegrityFirst and foremost, my actions are honest and based on strong moral principles. There's an old adage - if it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. By basing my actions on integrity, they feel 'right' and reflect my greater purpose. |
RespectWithout respect you lead no one. Before I take action, I consider the impact on my superiors, my followers, and the community. By being respectful to others, I increase my credibility as a leader. |
TrustWe all have unique abilities. By placing trust in others, we allow them to utilise their abilities to the fullest. I display trust by empowering my followers to make decisions, to take risks, and to defy the status quo. |
TeamworkOne person with a vision can achieve a little. Many people who share the same vision can achieve a whole lot more. By receiving help and helping others, we are able to achieve great things. |
Excellence"This doesn’t mean perfectionism at all costs, but it does mean refusal to accept mediocrity or make excuses for something being good enough. If you believe that something can be made better, put in the effort to do it. If you are in the business of making things, be in the business of making things great." - Bob Iger, Former CEO of The Walt Disney Company |
AmbitionWithout a desire to do better, we simply stop trying. Ambition is what drives my pursuit of success, it motivates me to fulfill my purpose, and encourages me to take risks. My actions are guided by ambition to improve not only myself, but the world. |
